UPDATE: 04/01/2020
Yesterday, Governor Abbott announced his executive order that will keep GEBCO closed until May 4th.
TDSHS has still not addressed how Asbestos & Lead licenses will be processed without refresher training but they are aware of the situation and working towards a solution. They have updated their site to indicate that all state exams are canceled through April. We will be sure to communicate any further announcements from them and you can also sign up for email updates directly from them at: https://www.dshs.texas.gov/asbestos/
We have good records of all current registrations and for any pre-paid classes, we have extended credit through the end of the year.
If you have any concerns or questions, please email our mailbox at info@gebco.org.
We truly hope and pray that all of you are staying healthy and that we all will be able to weather this storm!
Take care and God bless,
GEBCO Team
UPDATE: 03/25/2020
It is with deep disappointment that we must announce that GEBCO will have to remain closed until April 8, 2020 according to Tarrant County's Shelter in Place orders.
We have been in touch with TDSHS, TDLR and attempted reaching Tarrant County and the consensus is that we are not considered an "essential business" and unfortunately, the departments are not allowing us to conduct training via any online environments.
Our Asbestos Refreshers for the week of March 30-April 3 will be canceled and we will move you to the refreshers the week of April 13-17. If this is an issue, please email our mailbox at info@gebco.org to make other arrangements.
We will reach out over the next few days to those registered for other classes that were scheduled in the next two weeks.
As many say, these are unprecedented times and we hope and pray that by participating with the recommendations, this will all end very soon! We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through the schedule and try to get everything back in as quickly as possible!
As always, we thank you for your faithfulness and allowing us to serve your training needs!
Thank you,
GEBCO Team
Thank you,
GEBCO Team
UPDATE: 03/24/2020
TDLR announced that they have waived all Continuing Education (CE) requirements for licenses that are up for renewal in the months of April and May. There is no requirement for you to take this at a later time, they are simply waived for this cycle.
They have also ceased all exams and are asking that you reschedule online.
More info can be found on TDLR's site: https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/covid19.htm
Thank you,
GEBCO Team
UPDATE: 03/22/2020
Due to low registration, we have postponed all classes for the week of 3/23. As a result, we will not be in the office but will be checking email daily. Please contact us at info@gebco.org if you need anything and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possbile. It is our hope to be back to teaching classes March 30th!
God bless,
GEBCO Team
March 13, 2020
In response to the growing concern with the Coronavirus, we want you to know that the health and well-being of our students is always of top importance. GEBCO is committed to providing safe, yet the best possible and consistent service we can, given this evolving situation.
We realize that many of you depend on our classes for your livelihoods as do we so this how we are planning to proceed:
- All classes will be held as scheduled unless otherwise communicated.
- If you are experiencing flu type symptoms, we ask that you please reschedule. If we observe symptoms, we will likely ask that you reschedule for the safety of all.
- We are doing our best to keep our office clean and well sanitized.
- Our regular refund policy is being altered in that we will waive the 3-day prior notice needed to receive an 80% refund.Or, the alternative option to receiving an 80% refund is the option to leave 100% of the fee as a credit until the end of 2020 rather than the standard 6 months.
